TEGA Kid's Superplex opened its door in Lubbock, Texas in 1995. Our 20,000 square foot facility offers a range of instructional sports programs and childcare services. In 1995, all-around gymnastics for boys and girls ages 18 months - 18 years formed the basis of TEGA's business. To date, we have expanded our sports programs to include dance, cheerleading, tumbling, and swimming lessons. Our students have a great time progressing through friendly and non-competitive classes designed to provide increased skill development as they mature. Our classes are divided according to grade level, and our curriculum is based on the USAG Junior Olympic Program and our 20 years of experience teaching children. Boys and girls can enter the program at any age and begin building skills and self-esteem that will help them be successful now, and in the future.

When we opened TEGA in 1995 with 40 students, 30 were part of our first competitive gymnastics team.TEGA is the largest Junior Olympic training facility in West Texas, and home to the only boys program in Lubbock. In fact, our state-of-the-art facility rivals many clubs throughout the state of Texas. We have always been truly dedicated to the development of our young gymnasts. That commitment to excellence within a safe and fun environment has produced many State, Regional and National competitors. We have also had several gymnasts receive scholarships to major universities.

In 1997, we began what has become one of our most popular programs, Kid's Day Out Summer Day Camp (KDO). This program, for ages 18 months - 12 years, fills each and every year. When your days are filled with indoor and outdoor sports, games, gymnastics activities, swimming, art activities, and so much more, it is hard to find a program more suited to todays active kids. Even better, KDO is perfect for parents who need flexible childcare in the summer. With the flexibility to choose your days, sessions, and hours, you can create just about any schedule combination that best suits your needs.

With the success of Kid's Day Out came the addition of Palaestra, our full and part-time academic preschool program. Palaestra is a Greek word meaning "learning through play." This philosophy is the basis for our program. Palaestra is designed to provide high quality care in a safe and nurturing environment that promotes physical, emotional, creative, social, and cognitive development for children. Our curriculum provides an integrated, hands-on environment that fosters exploration, experimenting, and discovery. Our staff chooses resources and text that help us provide a developmentally appropriate program of education.

In 1998, we saw a demand for afterschool care in southwest Lubbock. Parents wanted more for their kids than an afternoon sitting in a cafeteria filled with too many kids and not enough staff. The TEGA Afterschool program offers children, grades kindergarten to 5th, an opportunity for active and organized afternoons, grouped according to their grades. Each afternoon starts with transportation from their respective school to TEGA, followed by a nutritious snack, gymnastics actvities, homework time, outdoor play, indoor games, seasonal swimming, and many more age appropriate activities. We are able to offer so much more than a typical daycare center.

From the beginning, we have always offered unique Birthday Parties and special events, like Friday-Nite-Fun, field trips, and holiday camps. These programs have become a "staple" for some families. We see children come every Friday night for an evening of fun while it becomes a permanent "date-night" for their parents. We even have several schools that book their end-of-the-year fieldtrip with TEGA in August of every year. We hear from parents all the time that are thankful they can rely on us to offer these fun extras for their family.

We are very proud of what TEGA has grown into over time. We always had a vision for this business, and that vision is coming to fruition through the consistent addition of quality programs, quality people, and quality facilities. We continue to improve our existing programs and are ready to develop the programs of the future that will benefit the parents and children of Lubbock. We look forward to becoming an invaluable asset on your journey of raising the precious children of Lubbock and the West Texas community.
