Childcare Choices
Curriculum : Palaestra provides an integrated, hands-on environment that fosters exploration, experimenting and discovery. Our staff chooses resources and text that help us provide a developmentally appropriate program of education.
Palaestra is a greek word meaning "learning through play." This philosophy is the basis for our academic preschool and full-time childcare program. Palaestra is designed to provide high quality care in a safe and nurturing environment that promotes physical, emotional, creative, social and cognitive development for children. We accept children ages 18 months - 5 years. Please come tour our facility and witness the fun and learning that take place each and everyday.
Program options : We enroll children ages 18 months - 5 years. Drop-off begins at 7:30. Academic Preschool begins at 8:30am and concludes at 3:00pm. We offer extended stay hours until 6:00pm each day. You may choose your days and hours of attendance in any combination. However, to adequately prepare children for Kindergarten, we recommend that 3 year olds attend two or more days a week, and 4-5 year olds attend three or more days a week. Palaestra is offered September to May. During the Summer, we offer our very popular Kid's Day Out program to provide care for this age group.
Credentials : We are licensed by the State of Texas and adhere to, and exceed the required minimum standards.
What makes TEGA different : We are not your typical preschool or daycare. Our facility allows us to offer daily gymnastics lessons, music and movement, and plenty of indoor activities. We move about our facility throughout the day, offering variety and a high activity level for the children. We receive high marks from parents who say our program is a perfect fit for their active preschooler!
What does my child need : Each child should bring a lunch, morning snack, nap mat and change of clothes. Nap mats may be stored at TEGA. We also ask the children dress in clothes that are suitable for gymnastics, playtime and arts & crafts. Younger children will need to provide diapers and wipes. Upon enrollment, you will be provided with a complete list of requirements.
Our Director and Staff : We hire energetic teachers who love to work with children. Often, our teachers are getting degrees in Early Childhood Education which makes them a perfect fit for TEGA.
